Long Beach, California is my new home. I have met lots of wonderful people here and I would like to introduce you to the stores and businesses that some of them own and provide links to their websites. This weekend (June 27-28) is the Long Beach Bayou and Mardi Gras festival — lots of music and fun — to raise money to take care of children of low-income families. Learn more by clicking here and join the festivities this weekend.

The UPS Store – Downtown Long Beach is on Pine Ave. where you can send UPS shipments, as well as Post Office shipments, and rent mail boxes. Joe Bergin provides excellent service.
Joe also owns a great wine store in downtown Long Beach, Vin de Pays Wines, where he has weekly wine tastings. Amy runs the store most of the time and is super friendly and helpful.
I discovered a fantastic frozen yogurt store on 4th and Park. It's called
Frogurtz. The yogurt is creamy and you get plenty for your money. And the owner, Susan Lapham, is a wonderful lady with a vision for a great store with a great product that she has turned into a reality. I am now a new, loyal customer! I highly recommend you check out this place. (Enter the parking lot as you are going south on Park.)
Lots of people own dogs in Long Beach — so they sometimes need a dog walker. Barney and Natalie are professional dog walkers and are great with all kinds of dogs. Give them a call at 562 726 9172 or look them up at Dogdo Dog Walkers.
I got a fabulous haircut at Ten Salon from Micael Pradon. They offer lots of other spa services as well. (They're updating their website, but you can Google them for reviews and call for an appointment. Ask for Mike. He really understands what you want when you describe it to him.)
I bought a lot of my furniture at Metropolitan Furniture on Long Beach Blvd. You can order online or go in for their design services and to shop from their catalogs. Don Phillips provided excellent service.

A new contemporary art gallery has opened up in downtown Long Beach in the new promenade area (east of Pine Ave). It is called Spezzano – The Gallery.
